Twigs have been designing and printing fabulous wallpapers and fabrics for nearly fifty years. Many of the designs are revived and recoloured from documents in their archives from historic houses in America and France.

The charm, style and sometimes eccentricity of the designs have enormous appeal. Their products have been used by top decorators on both sides of the Atlantic in places such as The White House, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Hotel Carlyle in New York as well as historic and prestigious houses in Europe. Some of the classic designs such as Pheasant, which simulates hand marbled book end papers, have been in the collection since they started.

Arthur Athas, who established the company and whose sense of colour and taste is second to none, continues to add to his repertoire and recently launched the 'Impronta del Sole' collection of gilded designs on burnished jewel coloured grounds conjuring up the warmth of the sun and the mysteries of Venice. They are printed on handmade mulberry pith and hemp paper and are inspired by his painting trips over the years to the Veneto.
